The First Cohousing Community in Regina, Saskatchewan
Our Story
In 2011 several Regina families came together to begin dreaming about future housing options. They learned about cohousing and felt it was a good match for their dreams. Others joined, and the community grew. With the guidance of cohousing experts Chris ScottHanson and Jasen Robillard, the community decided on a location for their future home, contracted with developer Fiorante Homes and Commercial and architectural firm PMGM, practiced consensus decision making, promoted cohousing, set up a legal and financial structure, and dove into the deep end of cohousing.
Construction on the building began in 2017 and was completed in the fall of 2019. We have been living in the building and the community since October 2019. We are a mix of owners and renters ranging in age from teens to eighties. We manage the building and sustain community by sharing our strengths and interests.
